Since May 1st was declared as a holiday here in the Philippines, we went on a road trip to Alcoy, Cebu.
Alcoy is a fifth class municipality in Southern Cebu. It is a famous destination for beach lovers. Tingko Beach, in Daan-Lungsod, Alcoy, is a white sand beach resort open to the public.
Alcoy is a two-hour drive away from Cebu City. We didn't know what to expect since it was our first time to visit the place. We made reservations at Bodo's Bamboo Bar Resort. We only saw photos at the resort's website so we never set any expectations.
When we finally arrived at the resort, we were amazed at the place. It's on top of a hill overlooking the beach. It has a pool and jacuzzi, mini bar, a restaurant, and bamboo cottages and swings. When you face the east, you get to see the peaceful view of the sea. When you face the west, you will see the picturesque view of the forest.

We immediately put our bags in our room and went straight to the restaurant to eat lunch. It took a little while for the food to be served. But the wait was worth it. The food was good and not too pricey. Delicious!
After lunch, we went to visit the white sand beach at Tingko. The beach looked great. We couldn't wait to take a dip in the crystal blue water. You could really see how the locals tried to keep the resort clean.
The gang at Tingko BeachAfter hours of swimming at the beach, we went back to the resort to take a dip in the pool and Jacuzzi. We had so much fun. What a good life!

The next morning, we searched for some nearby places that we can visit. We decided to visit the historic Oslob Church. While we were packing our things, I suggested that we visit Dumaguete City. They all agreed so off we went to a spur-of-the-moment road trip to Dumaguete.
My next blog post will include the details of our Dumaguete City trip. The trip was such an adventure! We got into some kind of trouble but the people in San Jose, Negros Oriental were kind enough to help us.
